What is Mixed Media ?

Is a mixed media art, which involves mixing different creative environments to create a work that incorporates two or more forms of art, material. This art goes beyond traditional artistic materials and includes unconventional materials and objects.
The mixed media allows artists to push the boundaries of art through the use of any materials including collage items such as magazine pages, newspapers, photographs, fabrics, aluminum sheets, zippers, wood or metal ornaments, everything is allowed.
Likewise, a piece of material mixt can be as "simple" as the use of two environments, such as acrylic paints with pastel.

Because it is a constantly evolving art form, mixed media art allows for great freedom of expression and often emphasizes both the execution process and the final product.

To quote the German philosopher Immanuel Kant:Art is not meant to represent a beautiful thing, but a beautiful representation of one thing.”

Mixed media art, is not a phenomenon of the 21st century, it began around 1912 with the cubist collages and constructions of Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque and became then widespread. Leonardo da Vinci, William Blake, Edgar Degas, Henry Matisse are other names of great artists who have used this technique, and this continues to this day.

Today there are professional media artists, as well as artisans at the beginning, who create both arts and crafts. Some of the most popular forms of mixed media include collages, sculptures, altered books, book albums and greeting cards. Traditional canvas art also uses different mixed media forms. Artists are constantly exploring new techniques and styles combinations.
